Reserving Vehicles

Since we're a small business with limited production, the only way we can guarantee delivery of a camper is through reservation.  Reserving a vehicle also guarantees it won't be sold to someone else prior to your arrival.   We require a downpayment/reservation fee of €500 on vehicles  to be collected within 6 weeks.   If the collection lies further in the future, a 50% downpayment is required.   If, on collection,  the vehicle you've reserved proves unsatisfactory for valild technical reasons which can't be corrected within a few days, all but an €250 administration fee will be refunded.

If for some reason your trip must be cancelled, all but a service charge of €250 will be refunded as long as the cancellation takes place no later than six weeks prior to the original collection date. Cancellation insurance is a good bet for those whose plans could change.

We suggest sending the downpayment via a SWIFT (electronic) transfer which you should be able to arrange with your bank or on your banking program if you use internet banking.  Information you or your bank will need for the transfer will be provided on request.   We also accept payment via Pay Pal (ask for instructions on how to send) but, in general, this proves to be an expensive way to transfer funds.  Western Union is also an option but inquire about terms for transferring large sums.

Payment

The most popular method of paying the balance due on the camper and running costs when collecting a vehicle is the same as is generally used for the downpayment: a SWIFT or electronic transfer from your bank account directly into ours.  Since you'll probably have already made one to reserve a vehicle, your bank or banking program should have all the necessary details to make the transfer once you've inspected the vehicle.  Many customers who use internet banking have a lap-top   along and can arrange the transfer themselves or do so via our computer.   Since  the transfer takes from 2 to 5 working days to arrive (usually never more than 2 these days), we allow you to use the camper during that period so you can check out all systems and give it a good test run.   This time also allows you to rest and move into the vehicle at a leisurely pace while staying at one of our local campgrounds.  Or you might want to stay    at one of the two campings on the outskirts of Amsterdam where you can leave the camper at the campground and take public transport into the center of the city.   You can also bring the payment in cash euros, of course, but carrying around a large amount of cash is not recommended.   Paying with a check or money order is also not recommended as they take three weeks to clear once deposited on our account - and that WOULD be a very long time to spend at a local campground!

Buy-back or Resale on Consignment

When you're finished with the vehicle you purchase, we can sometimes offer a buy-back (only available on vehicles costing up to E 4500 and depending on the time of year the vehicle is returned) but, more often, resale on consignment (available on all vehicles).   If you want to keep and store the camper for future trips, we can suggest very affordable storage facilities not too far away and assist you in deregistering the vehicle to suspend costs for insurance and NL road tax while the vehicle is  not in use.

Guarantees

All Dutch vehicles must undergo an extensive safety and emissions test each year (APK). Tires, brakes, lights, suspension - 130 points in all - are checked by government approved testing stations.   Turner Cars & Campers, with our own mechanic in service, also checks engines, transmissions and other mechanical points to insure that vehicles leaving our premises are otherwise in a good mechanical condition prior to leaving our premises.   Because it's not possible to offer pan-European guarantees on vehicles in this price range, we suggest our customers spend a few days driving in The Netherlands prior to leaving for further destinations.   If you detect any problems we may have missed, you're free to bring the van back for repair during the first month of use..  Vehicles are not covered for repair by other garages, in or out of the Netherlands.
