TURNER CARS
& CAMPERS

Supplying vans to tourists since 1972

We started out selling vans in Amsterdam back in 1972 and many of our customers have also become our friends.  If you'd like to contact some of them, ask for our list of references.

Paring down due to semi-retirement

Although I went into semi-retirement a couple years ago we're still be offering our very successful "Finder's Service". There'll also be the occasional camper for sale via our website.  We'll also help set you up Registration Service and international insurance with our colleagues at BW Campers who'll be taking over carrying the reg and supplying insurance for non-resident buyers, the backbone of our clientele.

See Europe at your own tempo, in comfort

Are you lookiing for a relaxed and affordable way to see all the places in Europe you've been wanting to get to?  A camper can be the answer and we at Turner Cars & Campers, located in the lovely Dutch city of Utrecht, Netherlands and providing vans, mostly to tourists, since 1972, can help you to get one which fits your needs and your budget.

If you don't find a vehicle meeting your criteria in our stock, Turner Cars & Campers also offers a "Finder's Service" which enables you to view campers being sold by other businesses or private parties and have us inspect them to make sure you're getting the right camper for your trip.

Here's what one of our customers had to say about our Finder's Service:

"I contacted Donna to help me find a left hand drive van in Europe and then asked her to do an inspection as well, to make sure it was in good condition.   She did not disappoint. Over a couple of weeks she sent me loads of links to good van options and when we did agree that one was worth going to inspect her inspection was very thorough. It included a good mechanical inspection, a body work inspection (for which she sent me photos of any defects) and she also took it for a test drive, in which she reported the condition. As she also sees a lot of these vans, Donna was able to give me her personal opinion as to wether the price was good, and then started the negotiations on my behalf.  It made buying the van stress free and was definitely worth the cost. Thanks Donna!

GREEN ZONES:

The age of your camper will determine whether it's eligible to enter the so called "Green Zones" now found in the centers of most larger cities.  In order
to enter most Green Zones you need a diesel vehicle made after 2005 or a gasoline/petrol made after 1991.  However, we've actually been recommending
since 1984, long before Green Zones came into existence, that customers leave their campers on a campground or parking outside the city centers to avoid
burglaries, often exobitant parking fees (or fines when that's not paid) and the increased possibility of an accident when dealing with heavy traffic.  We began this after a large percentage of returning customers told us their vehicles had been burglarized when parked in larger cities like Barcelona or
or Rome.  I do believe the situation in many of those cities has improved since then but after we started telling our customers to leave their vehicle
at a campground outside the city (where there's someone guarding the entrance and other campers around who notice who belongs to which vehicle and report if there's a stranger snooping around), the percentage of burglaries under customers visiting these and other large cities, dropped to nearly 0.  There's usually good public transport into the cities OR, as many of our customers do, you can get into the city centers on bicycles since many of the campers sold in Holland are fitted with a rack to carry cycles.  So even if your budget is limited to an older (pre-2006) diesel van, you can still travel Europe with your own hotel and transportation.

Finder's Service

Since we offer just a few campers on our site (usually being sold on consignment for former customers), we may not have the van you're looking for or can afford.  No worry, we also offer a Finder's Service by which we search for ads on local internet for a camper or campervan meeting, or coming as close as possible, to your criteria and budget.  We forward ads I think might fit your needs to you  so you can decide if you'd like to persue the vehicle further.  I contact sellers and negotiate the price and can arrange for inspection and test drive on vehicle(s) you're seriously considering buying.  We charge €175 + 21% v.a.t. for the Finder's Service and €300 + v.a.t. and running costs per inspection.  Ask for more info if you're interested.

Insurance & Reg

Registration Service and International liability insurance for non-resident camper buyers is available from our colleagues at BW Campers.  Similar to a lease and under contract, it enables you to operate your camper legally all over Europe and even into Turkey and Morocco.  Prices and conditions can be seen on their site at:
